Cookie Policy Handled.nl

Last updated: 12 July 2026

This cookie policy explains how Handled B.V. ("we", "us" or "our") handles cookies and similar techniques on handled.nl. It complements our privacy policy.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The party responsible (the "controller") for processing your personal data is:

  • Company name: Handled B.V.
  • Address: Boompjes 40, 3011 XB Rotterdam, the Netherlands
  • Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 42030946
  • VAT number: NL869388290B01
  • Email: privacy@handled.nl

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on or read from your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website. There are also similar techniques that store or read information on your device, such as localStorage, sessionStorage and device fingerprinting. Under section 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act, the rules for cookies also apply to these techniques.

3. Our approach: no tracking on your device

Handled.nl is deliberately built to store or read as little as possible on your device. In practice this means:

  • We set no analytics cookies
  • We set no tracking or marketing cookies
  • We set no social media cookies
  • We do not use localStorage, sessionStorage or device fingerprinting for analytics or tracking
  • Our contact form (Tally) only uses functional localStorage to hold on to what you have typed — no tracking (see section 4.3)

Because we set no non-functional cookies or similar techniques, we do not show a cookie banner when you arrive on the website.

4. The services we use - and why they set no cookies

4.1 statichost (hosting)

Our hosting provider statichost.eu sets no cookies on your device, as confirmed in the statichost privacy policy. We have signed a data processing agreement with statichost covering the technical data processed at server level (the IP address needed to deliver pages). That processing happens on statichost's servers rather than on your device, so it falls outside the consent requirement of section 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act. You can read more in our privacy policy.

4.2 Plausible and Leadinfo

The analytics and visitor recognition services we use were chosen specifically because they work without cookies:

Service Purpose Cookies or tracking on your device?
Plausible Analytics Website statistics No - cookie-free, nothing stored on your device
Leadinfo Recognising business visitors (B2B) No - IP matching happens externally on Leadinfo's servers; nothing is stored on or read from your device

Why Leadinfo needs no consent under section 11.7a: Leadinfo recognises which company is behind a visit by matching the IP address against a database, externally. No cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage or other means of storing or reading information are used on your device. Because the consent requirement in section 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act specifically covers storing or reading information on your device, this form of server-side IP matching falls outside it. The subsequent processing of the (pseudonymised) IP address is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), as explained in our privacy policy.

Retention of analytics and recognition data (see also our privacy policy):

  • Tally: we keep form submissions in line with the periods in our privacy policy (up to 24 months, unless a client relationship follows); the functional localStorage lives in your own browser and you can clear it yourself.
  • Plausible Analytics: IP addresses are not stored; aggregated visit statistics are kept indefinitely but cannot be traced back to individuals.
  • Leadinfo: we keep recognised company details for up to 12 months after the most recent visit.

For a full description of what these services do with visitor data, including the underlying data processing agreements, see our privacy policy.

4.3 Tally (contact form)

Our contact form is provided by Tally (Tally BV, Belgium). Tally sets no cookies when you fill in the form. The form does use functional localStorage within the form frame to hold on to what you have typed (so nothing gets lost) and to recognise that a submission comes from the same browser. This storage is strictly necessary for the form to work, is not used for tracking or profiling, and falls within the exemption in section 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act; no consent is therefore required.

5. Third-party cookies through embedded content

If we ever embed third-party content (such as a YouTube video, a Google Map, a LinkedIn widget or an embed from another platform), those third parties may set cookies or use similar techniques through that content. If that happens, we will ask for your consent first through a cookie banner or placeholder, unless you actively choose to load the content yourself. We currently use no such embeds on handled.nl.

6. Managing cookies

Even though we set no non-functional cookies ourselves, you can always control in your browser which cookies to accept or refuse. Through your browser settings you can:

  • accept or refuse all cookies
  • delete specific cookies
  • get a notification whenever a cookie is set
  • send "Do Not Track" signals

Help pages for the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

Please note: blocking functional cookies may affect how the website works.

7. Opting out of Leadinfo

If you would rather Leadinfo did not recognise your company when you visit our website, you can opt out at https://www.leadinfo.com/en/opt-out/.

8. Your rights

Because cookies can sometimes involve personal data, you have the same rights as with any other processing: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. See section 13 of our privacy policy.

9. Contact and changes
